Insect Meal

Insect Meal is an emerging, sustainable animal protein ingredient produced from whole dried and milled insects, either black soldier fly larvae (Hermetia illucens) or mealworm (Tenebrio molitor). It delivers a crude protein content of 40–60% alongside a favorable fatty acid profile, naturally occurring antimicrobial peptides, and chitin, a structural polysaccharide with prebiotic activity in the gastrointestinal tract. It is gaining regulatory approval and commercial adoption across premium aquaculture feeds, poultry diets, and companion animal nutrition as a traceable, low-land-use alternative to conventional animal proteins.
